About this meal

Kerala ishtu is a coconut milk stew that curdles fast when it is reheated the wrong way, which is exactly what happens to a stew left in a delivery bag. This one is sealed the moment it is cooked, so the stew stays smooth. Chicken and the coconut stew are retorted together in one pouch, and your grain, pearl millet or rice, is sealed separately, behind a moulded divider, so the grain reaches you dry, not soaking in the stew.

It is a high protein ready to eat meal, and the protein and calories for the grain you pick are listed on this page. Microwave 2 minutes, or oven 12 minutes at 180°C, and eat straight from the tray. No fridge needed: store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight, for up to 12 months, with 0 added preservatives, sterilised by heat instead.
